I Wonder Where God Is in 2020?

It is hard not to look around in the year 2020 and wonder where God is. It’s hard to watch the news and not get the least bit annoyed at the results of sins coming to fruition, on a global scale. So..., I wonder. It has been said that the book of Amos in the Bible relates to these times, and I want to know what is happening because, don’t we ALL wonder that? What in heaven’s name is going on?! Well, in Amos (NIV) 3:7 it says, “Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.” If you’re like me, you read your bible (although, honestly probably not as much as I’d like or, should for that matter). I’ve read it enough to know how this ALL ends, and Who “wins.” I know because of the prophets’ writings. I surely don’t know or understand all of what I read but, a friend of ours often says, “The word we’ll all hear the most in eternity is an understanding, ‘Ah.’” So, I read (nearly) daily. If I can be honest again; I read the Bible because it brings me peace of mind, even when I don’t understand. Try it regularly and you’ll see.

But, we look around and ask: So what do I do while this turmoil slams around us like a bumper car(s) ride from where the Devil lives? Amos deals with that as well. In Amos (NIV) 5:6 God says, “Seek the Lord and live…” Simply put, read your Bible, love and talk with God in prayer - however that works for you. Do that and you will be ecstatic in eternity. But, shouldn’t I say something? Shouldn’t I warn the world about what is happening and who is behind all the nastiness happening

now? Shouldn’t I confront those I disagree with because I get my “delicates” all in a wad? That’s what’s happening in the streets all around me now, wadded up boxers and panties. Amos (NIV) 5:13-14 states, “Therefore the prudent keep quiet in such times, for the times are evil. Seek good, not evil, that you may live.” So, I need to trust God, and keep a “lid on it.” Because I say I know Him, I should quietly watch in wonder as all He says in His word comes true. I wonder if I can do that. I hope and pray so. You know, it also says in the Bible that God is patiently waiting for us because He doesn’t want anyone to perish in eternity. (You can look that one up on your own.) Ah, so that’s where God is!
